Rating/Eq

I've been searching the forums for an explanation of this, but I haven't been able to find any.

What is rating/eq? Apparently, in the ORS page, two green bars are displayed for each flight. One must be the rating, and the other must be the EQ.

But what is the difference between the rating and the EQ? And how do these two interact in determining the level of competition between two airlines? Also, how does it demonstrate the difference between direct flights and connecting flights in gauging the level of competition?

I've attached a picture of the ORS page for reference.

Try this....

The first rating is the flight leg rating. Some origins and destinations (O&D) might not be reachable by direct flight so it might have few of those ratings.

The second rating is the final rating for that O&D. Direct flights usually have this final rating higher while connecting flights suffer a bit.

Passengers are booking their flights based on this second rating (final rating).

The higher the rating the higher percentage of passengers you are going to get for that pair of cities.

Thank you very much for the detailed response. This is very helpful :)
