Small airline - how to get rid of an unprofitable plane

Hey, I just got a problem:

As I started the airline, i bought several planes. I got most of them running profitably, except one. I wanted to place it on sale now, but it says that I dont have enough money to sell it... Any idea how to solve it?

Not enough money to sell it?

  • You don't have enough cash available. Please note that the display of your current balance might be rounded.

and below a table of prices

To act as an aircraft lessor your company's equity (accounts 3000 and 3100) has to amount to at least 20,000,000 AS$.

Aircraft settings, schedule and seating will be removed! The leasing rate will be calculated based on the final price.

You are supposed to sell it, but not to lease it.  :)

Thats what I do - press 100% sale only....

Do you own it 100% or was it bought on credit?

I bought it on credit. Somehow, later on the same day, it worked...

I also noticed that on some screens when scripts are driving some action (i.E. cancel a flight in aircraft/flights, assign pilots/cabin config in fleet management) only work after I forcefully reload the page using F5 key. If I just use menu from some other screen to get to fleet management, and then click a checkbox on some plane, I get an error message page:

Internal error

Return to home page

If I go back and use F5 key to reload the fleet management, all works fine....

Browser is the most actual google chrome on Win7. Happens on both home and office computers. Does not happen like this on my android smartphone.

I don't think you can sell planes bought on credit until you have paid off the loan. If you look at "loans" under the dollar-sign logo, you'll see that the aircraft are security for the loan - effectively, they are mortgaged.

It worked in the end - the problem originally was that i had no money to cancel the few still remaining flights, but when they timed out (i repositioned the plane to block the flights from happening, was a cheaper option this way), i was able to put the plane on sell only.

Else, it would have been illogical - my car is bought on credit, and not yet paid out, but I can still sell it any time, paying the remaining credit. I need to inform the bank before sale of course.
