Small Country, Long Flight Question

Hello, (this is the Ellington game world)

I have an airline based in Nepal, called Air Nepal (isn't it original) and i have some questions regarding long haul flights.

We have a very successful domestic network (we're the only airline based in Nepal) that feeds into a somewhat unstable, but fast recovering international network, to large cities such as Dubai, Hong Kong, etc. However while trying to expand, i took the 757-200 I lease and set a flight up from Kathmandu to Istanbul, Turkey. Despite this being a real work flight on a A330-300, I have 4 bookings on the outbound and 8 on the return. What I don't understand is the country next door (Bangladesh) has a flight in this game from Dhaka (the capitol) to Istanbul daily on a A330-300, and it sells out every day. I will also add that Dhaka has the same demand as Kathmandu. The company that runs this flight is Turkish, so i interlined with that same company, set up a flight corresponding to my hub wave and their hub wave. Even with that interlining there still aren't any bookings though. What am I doing wrong?

I would really appreciate the help

Thank you,

Air Nepal

without checking the airlines involed, real world turkisch airlines is a major carrier and has a huge hub at IST. I assume you two are simply lacking connections, while there is probabaly a very low overall demand to destinations in Nepal.

now I have checked.

you have a total of 176 departues a week. Let's assume you planned your schedule perfectly, that only allows for 12,5 connecting flights (assuming, you only have one departure wave perfectly fitting the arrival of your IST return flight, which is doubtful. also, half of your destinations are most likely linked to IST directly). Turkish Star Airlines offers a lot more, but since there is a total of 2502 connections available between IST and KTM, the competition is simply to big for your small airline in a really small country.

Alright, well I appreciate the response, I never really thought about it that way. This is the first time i have tried starting long haul flights on airlinesim, and it appears will be the last time I try it with this airline, haha. Once again I greatly appreciate the help.
