In the statistics sections what does Airport: connections mean?

connections as in weekly flights? does it include from/to flights
It cannot be weekly connections. Right now, in Tempelhof, LAX is the airport with most connections: ~15 million. But, 15*53 (weeks in a year) = 795 million! It's impossible! Even monthly it would be ridiculously high.
I don’t comprehend this stat too.

That number represents the amount of flight combinations that has been generated during the previous run of the ORS for the respective airport.
