Terminal space

So I saw an offer at a jam-packed airport for AS$9.90 for every unit that uses his terminal, $10 per flight to an airport isn't a big amount, should I take this offer or does it mean something different?

It depends on the size of your aircraft with how many passengers on board. The "AS$9.90" means for each passenger which in the other word is airport tax. I.e., you have 189 passengers on a flight, then you would need to pay 189 x 9.90 of amount to the handling provider. It is somehow cheaper than the current default handling and has better rating in overall if the terminal is built with 5-star rating. Please note the pax for the terminal is based on weekly which it is shown in your office of the airport.

So by using this terminal, I would be saving money than if I didn't?

This is very good I've done the maths.

Let's say I have a normal Dash Q400-A With standard seating (78 passengers)

I fly 4 flights to an airport weekly (4X78=312)

The defualt passenger handiling is $11 for ALL landings that are NOT using a player's terminal

Without the contract I would pay $3432 per week

With the contract I now only pay $3088 per week

A saving of $344 per week

Now this isn't much but if you were using terminals for hundreds of flights then I'm sure it'll make a difference. Either way-using player terminals is a good idea

I agree with you on this. I only wish I had discovered this fact sooner!

It's best if you ask the player first if he is offering terminal space. Some companies do this, some have terminals but forgot to reserve the space for themself.  So its better to check. But If you find a company that offers Space you have a little better ORS rating and can safe some money thats correct.

This sounds like a good idea. But, the pax provided by the other player usually are just the excess of their usage in the terminal and it may be not enough for your airline as your airline is growing bigger. The big airline builds up terminal as they have thousands of departures which can affect largely on handling cost.

When you have a handling contract through another player's terminal, you still gain your connecting passengers through the usual means: connecting flights, interlining, etc. You are not limited to merely those excess passengers of the company that owns the terminal.

What I meant was:

If you have 2500 pax of passengers using that terminal, but the player may only offer 2000 pax of handling contract which means the other 500 pax will be going to default AS handling. Usually handling providers will offer pax in the excess of their passengers using that terminal and least case will offer full handling contract to 10000 or 20000 pax.

I understand now. Thanks for clarifying!
