United Airlines trajectory

Hello everyone!

My company is United Airlines on Otto. I fell that I need help. I can't find the problem. I grow, but very slowly. I guess I don't chose the right plane or maybe the on-board service, priceing... Please take a look at my company and tell me what can I do to have a prosper and healthy company! Thank you!

Your airline’s name is illegal tho

Which airport is your base?

My company base it's CDG. Why do you say that my company name it's illegal?

You probably have too many/big competitors then.

There can be only fictional airline names

Approval rules for logos, holdings and companies

Naming conventions for holdings and companies

Holding or company names may be rejected for the following reasons:

 • The name is a registered or somehow other protected name or brand within the aviation sector (i.e. US Airways)
 • Obvious 'joke' takes on registered or protected names (i.e. Boring)
 • Names similar to those in use by existing companies or registered brands (i.e. Hamburg International is a real airline, „Hamburg Intl.“ will be rejected – unless the name consists of words which are in regular use (particularly geographical terms) and the name is combined with other words, like “Air Northern France” or “Indian International Airlines”)
 • Names without any link to aviation sector (i.e. "Radio")
 • Names of states, countries or cities (i.e. “State of Texas”)
 • Syntax & spelling mistakes (i.e. My Pesronal Airlinename)
 • Mixed languages (i.e. United Estados Airlines) – unless the mixture consists of the local language combined with „Air“, „Airlines“, „Airways“ or similar, which is acceptable. (i.e. Frankoforte Airlines)
 • Missing Spaces (NorthHamburg Airways)
 • Use of a language other than either English or the local language in use at the company's hub airport - an airline with a Greek name, for example, would be allowed in Athens but not in Cairo.
 • Legal Form is only allowed within holding names
 • Names which may be forbidden for legal or cultural reasons (for example, names with sexual or terrorist implications)
 • Abbreviations are allowed in airline names for reasons including airport codes or the initials of the user. (i.e. „JFK Jetways“). Abbreviations in general phrases like „Comp.“ or „Intl.“. are forbidden. Compound abbreviations, such as like “StdAirlComp” as opposed to “Standard Airline Company” are, similarly, forbidden. Abbreviations as singlestanding airlinenames are also forbidden like "ABC".
 • Deterministic composite names (i.e. “GermanInternationalOutOfFrankfurtOnlyToSouthernIta lyAirlines”) are not allowed; however, “PDXpress”, for example, is acceptable as it is non-deterministic.
 • No Domain-Names (i.e. "my-lovely-little-airline.com")

Having a quick glance at your airline shows the following potential issues:

 • 5 aircraft categories make the maintenance cost for the whole fleet 30% more expensive than necessary

 • AS is all about connections. You don’t have a clear hub, too many point to point flights. Are at least your flights coordinated into waves?

 • With 30 aircraft you should not think yet about long haul flights. You need a much stronger hub. I doubt that you make any money with those flights. And make sure, you have them scheduled perfectly after your biggest incoming wave (and vice versa).

 • With an average load of 97% you should be highly profitable. Are your prices adjusted properly?

 • Check your ORS ratings and make sure you at least match but better beat your competition. If necessary change your service profiles, exchange your seats and watch your image rating.

Good luck

Hello Matth, thank you for your answer.

1. I will try to reduce the number of aircraft type.

2. My hub is clear enough, it's CDG, but I am open for some new, now I am testing.

3. My long haul flights work just fine and make money.

4. That's the problem! It is not profitable at all... Or a little. How do I have to set my prices? I allways want to have the lowest prices, but I have the best services.

5. Most of the time I do have a good ORS.

Some tips? Some advices? Thank you!

In the current system, there is no point in having the lowest prices, as the only thing that counts is the quality / price ratio.

If the passengers are ready to pay, let them pay – as long as your rating matches or exceeds your competitors ratio, you will get passengers regardless of the price.

The best answer I would have for you is to set the prices at the level where it is financially viable for you to operate the flight (if not, there is little point in operating the flight in the first place – especially without transfer pax due to the lack of a proper wave system). Then, gradually increase the prices until your ORS rating / passenger load starts to decrease.
