Upgrading an Flight Schedule's aircraft

Greetings,

In light of my previous question, I was wondering how the switch to another aircraft button in the scheduling screen works and have hence produced a couple of questions:

  • Are the current booked flights going to be cancelled and then rebooked with the new aircraft (72h in advance) ?
  • Where does the second aircraft need to be (I'm guessing my hub) ?

I am thinking of upgrading from an ATR 42-600 to an ATR 72-600, so same seat type for both classes except there are now more seats. The range is the same, is there any specific difference to this scenario?

Thank in advance!

1) All flights booked on the original aircraft will remained booked on that original aircraft

Only new flights (72 hours onwards from the time the schedule was transferred) will be booked on the new aircraft.

If you return the original aircraft to the lessor, any remaining flights left to be flown at the time the aircraft is returned, will "disappear" with no penalty to you.

2) The aircraft can be located anywhere, just make sure you have the crew assigned to it, and it will transfer to the first flight's origin airport during those 72 hours.

If you play on Quimby with dynamic turnaround time,s your turnaround times may be longer on the larger aircraft, depending on your onboard profile / seat count / boarding method, and cargo handling options. On all other servers, there will be no other turnaround time effect switching between AT4 and AT7.

This is a wonderful clear answer, thanks!
