Where can i find this?

Everyone is talking about doing research on our home airport…i’ve been doing lots of research about it and it’s demand but i can never seem to get the demand right…every time i set up a route according to where passengers want to fly it never gets full and i can never get it right…i was wondering if there was a specific website from where AS gets its stats? or a trustworthy website that provides good stats on airports?

Thanks!

I don’t think you are going to find any better info then what is provided on the airport page, anything outside of that has no effect on the passenger/cargo volumes. As for your flights never filling up, you need to provide more specific info about them before you might get any help, distance, service profile, aircraft, aircraft configuration, Departure-Arrival airport, competing flights etc.

  1. never fly to airport 200 km or less

  2. never fly to airport who have less then 3 green stripes for demand

  3. new aircraft have better image, so if you have old planes, you need better on-board service

  4. if you have competition on same route - look for times don’t fly to close time, and offer better service, and lower ticket price

  5. interlining and alliances helps in booking

@darky007: my average aircraft age is 2 years, 95% of my airports have more then 3 green stripes…and i fly to airports that are 200km or less and the flights are booked solid.

@airlake: the question isn’t about my airline…it’s more about a reliable source of information and if there is even one

I have 4 star on-board service for my short haul and i have a 5 star on-board service for any flight that’s more then 800km…all of my planes are less then 2.5 years old…

but what i would like to know is…are there any reliable sources for information about airport demands?

even if you knew the exact numbers ( and only the team might know but most certainly will never tell - nor should they), there are too many factors playing in to give you an exact idea of how many pax you can get where.

however, one "source" for a general idea are both the real life airport pages with their schedules and wikipedia.

check openflights.org or wikipedia for a list of connections in RL.

However, it is no guarantee for a good booked route. AS is complex. You can influence the demand on specific routes. Some passengers wont take the direct flight from A to B. If there is a better flight via C, the pax may take this way.

@darky, well in my opinion you are wrong here.

Even a ultra-short flight is profitable or can generate a mass of transfer passengers. I have hundrets of flights between BWI and the NY Airports. Small airports could be profitable if you have a good network and you can offer good connections. If so, even a 737 could be fully booked at such airports.

Point 4 must be corrected too. Price is not the biggest factor. Some of my flights are the most expensive flights on the market, but fully booked. And it does no matter when your flights depart, except you have an IL with an competitor.

@Kahael

problem is in beginning

Who have problems?

players who are nobs in game, and make mistakes (like me)

  1. buy to expensive aircraft and or to old or wrong type

  2. take routes witch are (to)short - and generate low profit

Next, all best places are occupied (if you not on fresh new server), and its hard get slot in on biggest airports

next for every decision you must think 72 hours ahead and wait to see are you good or you fail

its hard on beginning

I have heading of reading game wiki - manual - lot of data, and still wiki not cover 70% game options - and you must learn in walk

i don’t scare to make reset, but every reset cost me 2 days inactivity, and its frustrating to start again if you fail

If you cant get a Slot on the big airports, use the ground network for your benefit. Fly to HHN instead of FRA. This can work, if the airlines that serve the big airport mostly use small aircrafts.

And a Hub can even built up at a small airport. In the US you could use BNA or MKE (if you can handle a nightflight-ban, but MKE have ORD and MDW in its ground network). But you have to generate transfer passengers. Shedule as much flights to the big airports as possible; every hour if possibe. This isnt realistic, but it works. Even if you dont earn much money, but transfer passengers pay twice.
