I've got 10 ATR 42-600, I could upgrade to 72-600 if I need the capacity.
However I was looking for a good aircraft to achieve mid-stage growth, moving from local to continental.
I am aware ATR 600's have 1500km full load range but I would like to know what are the best aircraft for 3000km range that have not overly expensive lease cost, and overall good for medium range routes.
I'm still building up but was curious as to what you might suggest?
I have come to like the E95. range 3000 depending on config, LR goes 4000km. you can operate it with 100pax (up to 124), so you don’t go overboard
particularly with the new data, others will argue me on that. CRJs appear to be a popular choice and apparently the SSJ isn’t bad sith the low fuel prices.
one more thing: consider exchanging the 42 for the 72 if SLF permits. they are was more efficient. if you want to grow your fleet instead of switching aurcrafts, consider putting 72s on the popular routes and the 42s you already have on smaller destinations. depending on airport and your departure time system, you might want to add more connections before going midrange. you can make more money given a good SLF, though
Thank for the responses yukawa, I'm based in Algeria and Wings of Europe pretty much covers all of my european destination (we have interlining agreement) and so sub-saharan Africa and middle east would be the next possible markets as well as smaller towns in Europe.
The AN-148/158 are a lot better than the SSJs as they have two different size categories and two assembly lines. I agree with Yukawa regarding upgrading the ATRs. Though I do really like the E195 but I do not like the other E Jets and I think that the CRJs fit a lot better in size with 737s or A320s. You could keep a consistent passager increase per aircraft from the CRJ-200 to the A321 or the 737-900.
I absolutely love the Antonovs, but, and it’s a big one, once you deplete the used market and start buying new, they take a looooooong time to be delivered. Not a problem if you plan for it, just something to consider. In the size category, nothing makes better profits, and the range can’t be beaten.

You can cover with some used CRJs or E Jets until they get delivered. Though as I said they have different production lines meaning that you can have one every 30 hours if you order both variants. I just put a large order for both variants and then I schedule my flights using CRJs and when they arrive I will slowly replace the CRJs.
Definitely recommended type, I'm a happy customer with 50 airplane of the type in my fleet. :D
I think I need to correct myself a bit
Word of caution, as already mentioned A148/A158 takes quite a while to deliver as new plane - 1 per 60 hours, and do also note that its popularity rating with passengers is 4 bars.
Just as I wrote this, I'm no longer a happy customer lol. Someone decided to compete with same service profile and better aircraft, topped my ORS rating of 99 by a mere 1 point and take care the not-so-loyal-AS-passengers.
If you think for long term, you might want to prevent competition by offering superior rating right from the beginning. In this case, look for CRJ700 to fly up to 2,000km and A319LR for anything beyond and up to 7,000km.

Why the LR? It's way less profitable than the other A319s for routes under 7000 km. They're really only useful for routes 7000-8000 km where the others cannot reach.

i was referring to A319-100 Light and A319-100 LR actually, hence the LR typo :P
the type capacity is somewhat reasonable, just pick the one with the range that you require..
