Wide body or narrow body?

hello, i was wondering what is better to start of with when creating a new airline. Eather going strait to the wide body aircraft (777,787,A350) or buying 4-5 narrow body/regio jets?

Thank you

Always narrow bodies as you can get more which will offer more connections. Airlinesim is all about connections. It is a very silly mistake to start with wide bodies.

Remember to make a very good wave system ;).

Read this as well to get a general understanding of the game.

Thanks :)

And don't buy but lease them.

I’d suggest starting with props like DASH or ATRs for flights under 500 km and regional jets like CRJs or similar for flights 500-2000 km. Try to get to as many destinations as possible in your and neighbouring countries and upgrade planes as they become full.

Do not even consider going long-haul until you’re in the game for several months and have a massive feeder network.

In my opinion, the prop v narrowbody issue depends on where and when you’re starting your new airline. If you’re starting in a large (7+ bar) airport on a new server, I’d be getting narrowbodies. Probably 321s or 739s. AS has a bit of a pricing bias towards longer haul flights, so you can usually boost your income a bit with a couple of 4-5000km flights on pretty efficient narrowbodies.

If the world is already underway, or you’re starting at a smaller airport, I’d definitely start with turboprops or regional jets, and work your way up by building connections. (Turboprops will be more efficient; regional jets will help compete with other airlines as they get a higher ORS score.)

If you are going to start in a whole new server (Quimby should be open real soon), then by all mean, go long-haul. Easy money and pretty much guaranteed 100% LF On established servers, go with the option that provide you with the most connections you can possibly get out of the starting $10 mil.

Thank you all.
