A day late, but hey
Last week I left the newly updated version of AirlineSim (see devlog 2024-04) to steep on our internal test server a bit. We found a few issues that I fixed, but as this week’s events have shown, clearly not all of them
Besides that, the week was about pretty boring but necessary stuff: A lot of final paperwork for the ASTD funding project is due in the first quarter of 2024 and I wanted to get as much of it behind me as I could.
Also this quarter, larger email service provides like Google and Yahoo will tighten their rules for email senders like us, so to make sure our messages (both transactional and informational) still reach you, we had to do a few configuration updates and implement a common standard for unsubscribing from mailing lists.
I also made a bit of progress on the new aircraft performance formulas I mentioned last week. The current draft looks very promising and I’ll spend a bit of time soon to look into some basic tooling for our aircraft data team. Researching all those new (or reworked) performance parameters without some sort of tool support would be extremely tedious. At the same time, I can’t and don’t want to go overboard with tool development…you people want to see features
