Support Program for Beginners

Hi,

a few days ago some experienced players started a support program for beginners in the German speaking community. We would like to offer the same service to English speaking beginners. As we only have a limited number of experienced players we can accept only a small amount of beginners. To ensure maximum efficiency of the program, we would like to outline some rules:

-You should already have an active airline on Airlinesim yet and tried out some features on your own

-Airlinesim is very complex. For this reason we will consider only beginners who are seriously interested to learn the game, show some initiative and are willing to spend some time on it. It can take some days or even weeks to get a satisfying result.

-We will give you some advice about the general concept of your airline. However, we won't force you to use the same concept we are using.

-We are only to assist beginners. Once you have reached a certain size you will have a good idea how the game works and you will be able to grow on your own. Therefore we decided to limit the maximum aircraft size to A321/B739 while you are participating in the program.

If you are interested, send your application to one of the expierenced players (see below) via private message in the board. Your application should include your current server and airline and your idea how to expand.

Currently the following experienced players are availible (capacities are updated once there is any change):

Yukawa - can accept one more beginner, availible for all servers

duoflyer - can accept two more beginners, availible for Aspern

FENCC01 - can accept four more beginners, availible for Tempelhof, Devau, Kaitak, Nicosia

Nine7 - can accept three more beginners, availible for all servers

Regards,

duoflyer

Great idea! I would have loved a mentor when I started playing.

After one of my trainees dropped out withoutsaying goodbye, I guess I have a trainee position available again

@yukawa: I updated my post to include your availible position...

Can someone in my position apply?

I do not consider myself a beginner, I am running quite successful airlines but they run from 8-10 bar hubs in countries with very strong domestic traffic. So huge O/D demand meaning lots of domestic frequencies where connecting traffic is made easy that way.

I would like to learn how to build an airline based on (and surviving on) mainly connection traffic from midsize-hub (5-7 bars). My dream and challenge is to replicate FENCC's Cambogia business model. I am mainly interested in the Caribbean or Central America as connection points to build the airline in (as the Americas - North, Central, South & Caribbean I know quite well ) connecting North and South America and points in between. Anybody from the guys that offered their valuable time, willing to tutor me in this?

Hi,

if you need more experienced players, you may add me to your list. I don't mind helping a new player... if he is active on the Tempelhof server  ;-)

Jan

Hi,

I am happy to help one or two out on gatow/aspern

Thanks

Would you mind if I hired you as a ‘consultant’? LuftyAirlines is trying, but I think I started too big too fast!

I would love a mentor on Nicosa, if anyone can help.

Hmm... "hire" and "consultant" sound expensive  ;-)

I shall send you an in-game message

Please add me to the list as well. Been playing AS for 3+ years, would be more than happy to help out :)

is anyone still running this training programme? i have operations on several servers, some more promising than others, and using different business models.  Each time i get a successful couple of routes I tend to muck it up. Would be helpful to get some advice

I am happy to mentor on Gator/Devau.

Is this still running? I've been going on quimby for about 3 weeks now but still have tons of questions

I don't know if this mentoring program is still available but I need help in the worst way. I'm trying to start up my Airline Cellardoor on the Qumiby server and I'm having the hardest time figuring anything out. Since I just started I can't afford to Start up my airline using 757, even if Iease, which I really want to do. I currently moved to MSP so I would like to start operations from there. Currently I have 4 B717's and trying to do the MSP-MCO/MIA/TPA routes (cruise lines/family vacations/Etc). I need help getting people to book these flights, etc. I just figured out that I needed to ferry my planes from LGB to MSP , it took a whole day for me to figure out why my planes were still at LGB.

So please take pity on me and help me. I am trying to learn the game and would love to support it once I figure out the ropes. P.S. how do I make a logo for my planes, company, etc.

No offense, but you need to learn the basics first

I suggest you look up Alfapiomega’s LET’S PLAY AIRLINESIM, he has done three “seasons” of tutorial videos. You can search for them on youtube and the links have been also posted here on the forums several times, so you can search for them here.

After you go through of all three seasons (about a week’s time needed) you should have a pretty good hang of the sim. You should watch and practice at the same time. After you have finished the tutorials, you should restart and start afresh, with all the knowledge you have learnt.

and the program is still available. but as rubiohiguey pointed out, you need to make the first few steps on your own and see, if this is the kind of game you want to invest your time in so we know we can invest our time in you.

is this program available in Ellinikon? would love to continue learn something.. :D
